This Valentine’s Day – remember WaterSense

Greg Gerber Uncategorized

WaterSense wants you to remember to love them too this Valentine’s Day, and we at Gerber enjoy being a WaterSense Partner. So embrace the five water-saving reasons below to remember why you fell in love with WaterSense in the first place. And be still your ticking water meter! Love means never having to flush twice. Bathrooms love water—they’re the biggest water users in the home. Over the course of your lifetime, you will probably flush the toilet more than 140,000 times, so show it a little love by using a more efficient model. WaterSense labeled toilets won’t let you down—they are independently certified to use 20 percent less water, but don’t require extra flushes. It only takes a minute (or two). Nothing says “I love you” like turning off the faucet for the two minutes it takes to brush your teeth or shave. For just a few minutes of quiet time each day, you can save enough water over the course of a year to wash three months’ worth of laundry. To use 30 percent less water in your bathroom faucet, twist on a WaterSense labeled aerator. These little beauties cost just a few dollars and can be installed in under a minute. Love your lawn with less work. There’s no need to flood your lawn with encouragement to have a healthy, happy landscape. About half of the water we use for watering outdoors goes to waste from evaporation, wind, and runoff. Water at the right place, at the right time (early morning is best), and your lawn will love you for it. Better yet, if you have an irrigation system with a standard clock timer, show it a little love this year by considering a WaterSense labeled irrigation controller that has a built-in relationship with local weather stations to help monitor water use. Shower with power. If you think you need extra water to stay warm in the shower this winter, you’re all wet. WaterSense labeled showerheads are independently certified to use 20 percent less water and perform as well or better than standard models. Plus, they save enough energy to power your television use for the year! Stop (wasting water)! In the name of love. The drip-drip of raindrops on the roof is romantic. The drip-drip of a leak? Not so much. And it ruins the mood even more when you consider that easy-to-fix leaks in your home could be wasting enough water every year to wash nearly 10 months’ worth of laundry. Learn more about how to fix them.

Going to the International Builders’ Show? We are!

Greg Gerber Uncategorized

Going to the International Builders’ Show? We are!

The upcoming International Builders’ Show is a very exiting time for many manufacturers. We at Gerber are introducing several new products including 4 high efficiency toilets (HETs). Our Allerton bathroom suite now is offered with low flow, offering water at 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) and are pending certification by WaterSense®, a program established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to save water.   According to the EPA, WaterSense labeled products are about 20 percent more water efficient and perform better than their less efficient counterparts in the same category.   Featuring a Fluidmaster fill valve and a dual-fed siphon jet, the Allerton HETs have Gerber’s renowned Avalanche flushing platform, delivering an exceptional flush. Moreover, the HETs come with a three-inch flush valve and are available in Gerber’s ADA compliant ErgoHeight™, elongated and round front bowls. The Allerton tanks are offered in 10-inch or 12-inch rough-ins, and come with a two-inch fully glazed trapway. The Allerton suite also has low-flow faucets and stylish lavatories. The faucets, like the HETs, are certified by WaterSense, offering water at 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm) as compared to the industry standard 2.2 gpm. Included in this collection are Gerber’s self-rimming and pedestal lavatories, which offer generous wash basins.   The Allerton suite is available in white, bone and biscuit. In addition, the suite comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is in compliance with ANSI/CSA/IAPMO codes and requirements.

Our Brianne Suite now offered with a high efficiency toilet

Our Brianne Suite™ is now offered with a high efficiency compact elongated toilet (HET), serving as the company’s third HET addition in 2012.   “Adding to our extensive offering of high efficiency toilets, we are delighted with the introduction of the Brianne water saving toilet, which features Gerber’s well-liked Avalanche toilet flushing platform,” said Ron Mudge, marketing manager for Gerber.   Featuring a Fluidmaster Fill Valve and a dual feed jet for optimal flushing performance, the Brianne HET uses only 1.28 gallons of water per flush (gpf), and is pending WaterSense certification. WaterSense is a program established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conserve water.   Designed with space in mind, the compact design of the Brianne 1.28 HET is the recommended seat height in accordance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. This toilet is ideal for small spaces and is available with an elongated bowl and 12-inch rough-in options.   Gerber, a leading brand of plumbing fixtures for home and commercial use, delivers over 80 years of experience in creating exceptional bathrooms recognized by its innovative products and superior performance.   Available in March 2012, the Brianne 1.28 HET will be offered in white and biscuit, and comes standard with a side tank lever.
